A Lot Like Love

and we count our blessings.

Happy Chinese New Year everyone (:

The start of a new lunar year has been a pretty good one so far. Had a good trip back to Malaysia and visiting the paternal side of my family after not having seen them for a whole 4 years.. Had reunion dinner at my uncle's restaurant and it was mucho delisho! Although there wasn't much that we had in common, conversations were still easy, simple and genuine. I wouldn't say that life is less complicated/simpler there because they have their own problems too. But if there's anything I learnt from this trip, it's that familial relations are important and something that we should always hold dear. Look at how big my paternal side of the family is :D (and we were still missing my grand dad and a family of 5!)

Langkawi was greaat. Traveling out to the Andaman sea, watching the eagles feed, visiting bat caves.. it was a relaxingly hot day and I'm very nicely browned :D Haha. We had to take a 3 hour ferry trip back from Langkawi and I spent it on the deck. Reading, drawing, talking to these Aussie girls (who reminded me of Maine and me traveling together), feeling the sun and wind in my face and watching the sun disappear down the horizon. It was a very very pretty sight..

As per usual, celebrations in Singapore always culminate into a gambling fest. Haha.. Literally every house that we go to, a mahjong table and a blackjack table will always be opened. Sweetly fattening food/snacks/drinks, happy children everywhere, fun gambling all around, the festive cheer is very much palpable. I've always liked Chinese New Year (:

Have a good weekend y'all (:
